I was reading an article today by Carmine Gallo from Fast Company. She recently heard Nike President and CEO Mark Parker speak about the innovation advice that Apple CEO Steve Jobs gave him. I use the KISS – Keep It Simple Stupid – theory whenever facilitating any creative session that involves art. Our art class at University heard it so often that it was the name of our graduation show. I think we often confuse over complicated with creative. Because it’s something that we never normally do it must be complicated?
Is it all really that simple? When innovation trends seem to constantly coming up with as many NEW products as possible, this advice seems almost against the grain of what we think innovation should be. It’s hard to argue with Steve Jobs however….
